Eastridge Elders and Wives
Ray & Carolyn Hughes
Ray and his wife, Carolyn, have been members of the Eastridge congregation since 2002. Ray first began serving as a shepherd for the Lord’s body in 1985 when the Hughes’ made their home in Abilene, Texas. Ray’s service to Eastridge in the capacity of an elder began in 2005.
Dwight & Jan Walker
Jan and I have been members at Eastridge since 1991. We were the first people to place membership after James Hawk accepted the pulpit ministry. I have been an elder since 1992. Jan and I are active in the Children’s ministry. She is the director of the 3 years and under group and teaches the nursery class on Sunday which means I get to hold babies while she teaches. It just doesn’t get any better than that!
Glenn & Judy Hall
Judy and I have been members of Eastridge since 2003. In 2005 I began serving as one of the elders. Before coming to Eastridge my career with AT&T, Sprint and other telecommunications companies required us to move frequently. We enjoyed getting to know our spiritual brothers and sisters in many cities. During our time in Kansas City I was blessed to serve as one of the elders at the Overland Park congregation for 5 years. Judy worked for Sprint as an event planner and financial analyst and served in the benevolence ministry. While there, we were able to complete our undergraduate studies in business and psychology.
We have two children, Doug and Jennifer and 5 grandchildren. Doug and his wife Jill and their two children attend the Preston Road congregation. Jennifer and her husband Scott and their three children attend the Eastridge congregation.Today Judy serves in the kindergarten class and food pantry. I am privileged to teach the Sunday morning Journey’s class that meets in the auditorium. What a blessing to work and serve this great church family!
Tony & Debbie Callaway
Tony and his wife Debbie married in 1974 and have been blessed with two sons, Brock and Blake, one daughter-in-law, Schauna, and four wonderful grandchildren, Connor, Jaxson, Kaden, and Halle. The Callaways enjoy spending time with family, A&M football games (Commerce and College Station), hunting , fishing and travel. Tony and Debbie began visiting Eastridge in 2006 and were drawn to the church by the friendliness and love of this growing congregation.
Tony was appointed as a Shepherd on December 6, 2009. Before coming to Eastridge he served as a Deacon for 17 years, Youth Coordinator for six years, and Elder for four years. Tony enjoys studying and teaching God's word and is committed to saving the lost and encouraging and strengthening the flock.
Ken & Holly Ford
Holly and I have been members of Eastridge church of Christ since November 2001. We were initially drawn to this congregation by rumors of the merger between Rockwall and Lakeside churches of Christ. We have been incredibly blessed by being a part of Eastridge, which is a wonderfully dynamic and loving congregation. I served as a deacon over small groups for the last six years, and have been a Shepherd in our congregation since 12/6/2009.
My passions include studying and teaching God’s word, small groups ministry, medical ministry, and shepherding. Holly and I have been married twenty two years, and have two teenage boys, Kenneth (15) and Matt (13). We enjoy tennis, skiing, and outdoors activities.
Keith & Vickie Thomason
Vickie and I began worshipping with the congregation now known as Eastridge during the summer of 2001. Part of what drew our family to this church was the welcoming, friendly atmosphere we experienced from the very first visit. I believe that atmosphere has remained even though we grown tremendously since then.
I was blessed to also serve at the youth minister for Eastridge for several years. We are excited to be currently involved in the Roaring 20’s Class that helps us stay connected with many who were in the youth group not so long ago. Vickie is also involved in Cool Kids and enjoys teaching pre-school Bible classes. And, of course, we love our small group meetings, too!
Vickie and I have three adult sons (and two daughters-in-law.)
