Bearing One Another

When a man sees a woman carrying something, it is considered gentlemanly for him to offer to carry it for her. Even between men; if a man sees a friend picking up boxes and carrying them from one place to another, he will generally help.

It happened at a Special Olympics where handicapped children competed with tremendous dedication and enthusiasm. One event was the 220-yard dash. Contestants lined up at the starting line, and at the signal, started running as fast as they could.

January 16 is a special day in my life. If you’ve been around Eastridge for a couple of years, you may remember hearing about it before. If you do remember, you are helping me illustrate the point of my sermon that God gave us the ability to remember and He expects us to use it.

It is often difficult to behave like a Christian especially when someone crosses us. Yet, we are called to live better than those around us. We are taught to love each other and see to one another’s needs. We need to be there to help carry one another’s burden.
